(K,Ba)(UO2)2(PO4)2.6H2O
Tetragonal
Meta-ankoleite, a potassium uranium phosphate hydrate mineral, occurs as a minute cluster of yellow crystals on a vein surface in franklinite- willemite ore from Sterling Hill. It is not known from Franklin. It was verified by Dr. Eugene Foord of the U. S. Geological Survey, using X-ray and chemical analytical methods; he reported some substitution of Ba for K in the material studied. This meta-ankoleite is fluorescent in ultraviolet, and the response color is green in shortwave (Bostwick, 1992). Meta-ankoleite is rare locally; it has not been studied by the writer.
