The apatite group is the predominant high-temperature host for a great diversity of large cations and arsenic and phosphorus. There is much compositional variance in the minerals of the apatite group from Franklin, many of which are rich in arsenic, but markedly less variance in those from Sterling Hill. The locally occurring minerals of the apatite group are listed below.
